A little Bit About Me!

Hello!

Thanks so much for stopping by my shop! It means the world to me! My pottery journey started like a lot of people's. With pottery camps as a kid and later the occassional class with a friend. I always left these experiences thinking I needed to do more pottery but the inevitable business of studying and working left it on the backburner. It wasn't until I moved from Canada to the UK where I really started to commit to the practice of it. Now, just over a year later, I'm more in love with this art form than ever.

Having moved to London, England, and away from my previous role as a canoe guide in northern Canada, I was desperate to find a way of keeping my hands in the mud. Out of this search for a grounded connection with nature within a big city came Grounded Ceramics. Now, back in Ontario, I continue to make small batch stoneware that is one of a kind, thrown on a wheel and finished with my two hands. My goal as a potter is to create both highly functional and aesthetically unique items that bring joy and peace within your everyday life. As an avid lover of the outdoors my work continues to be inspired by the colours and silhouettes of the natural world and often changes with the seasons. I believe that to be able to share a meal with the people you love out of a well made vessel is to know true joy.

May these pieces inspire a moment of grateful pause in your day.
